What am I thankful for other than family, friends, God, health and home? The ability to grow in my life and my business, to know what moves me forward, what brings me peace and therefore enables me to grow my business, friendships as well as live a great life. I also am thankful for knowing what hinders my communication and relationships and therefore brings me stress and disappointment.
We all want to do our best, to be liked, even loved and approved of. That is perhaps the number one need of all humans, however do we actually know how we come across to others. You may be saying, I don't really care if they like me as long as they buy, but I doubt this is totally true.
So some of the things I am grateful for are the tools and people in my life who tell me the truth, albeit, gently please. Whether it's the DISC profile or a 360; it is helpful to know that I can come across as aloof, inflexible, or too direct. It is also helpful to know that I have a way of presenting things in a manner that is easy to understand, that I'm honest, a trusted adviser, dedicated, a good listener, and give great value.
In a recent workshop I did on the DISC profile, the participants were such eager learners. It was great! They loved knowing more about themselves, they began to clearly see why the changes management was dictating created such chaos among the team; it was in their natural nature to resist change. Those who were highly directive saw first hand, how everyone doesn't always think like they do and how they were perceived to be pushy.
So whether you're demanding or picky (or somewhere in between), we all have something to contribute to the team and knowing how we're perceived allows us to adapt our style to more easily communicate in order to accomplish what needs to be accomplished.
If you'd like to know more about yourself and how you can prosper from a personalized 360 or DISC for yourself or your team, give me a call. I'll give you the personal attention and value you can be grateful for; and I'll be grateful for your call. It's a win/win.
